Hermit crabs are genaraly nice critters. If you own Land Hermit crabs, make sure you buy good food for them, like hermit crab variaty bits. It is also a good idea to give your hermit crabs more then just pet store food. I have had 5 hermit crabs and they seem to like having variatys of foods so they can pick witch one they want each day. Mine seem to like there regular hermit crab variaty bites along with fruits and vedgtables. You can just put it on the regular food dish. Don't worry, they won't mind the mixing!
BATHING
Hermit crabs in the wild will genraly bath themselves, but in captivity, they need help. You can bath them very easily, and they usally like it. Here are the steps to do it.
STEP 1. Fill up small container [depending on the size of your crab] with room tempeter water. DO NOT FILL WITH SALT WATER! Make sure it covers your biggest crab, and dump out water the smaller the crab. Gentaly take your crab by its shell and place it upside down in the water. Wait until the crab turns it self right side up and then immedeitly take it out of the water.
Repet this method if the crab is really dirty.
STEP 2. Pick up the crabs one at a time after there bath and empty out there shell until there is no more water in the crab's shell. Let them walk around in a contaner with a towel in it. You may put shells in the contaner, because they may decide to go shell shopping!
